Welcome to the Web site of the Tufts Lawyers Association (TLA). We are an alumni organization consisting of graduates of Tufts University involved in the legal profession or attending law school. Our mission is to provide service to Tufts University and networking opportunities for our members.

I am honored to be the third President of the Tufts Lawyers Association, succeeding George Hirsch, A74, and Bill Labovitz, A90. George founded the TLA in 2003 and ably served as its first president. (George is pictured on this page. To the left is Ann Palmieri, J78, past president of the Tufts University Alumni Association (TUAA). To the right is William O'Reilly, A77, TUAA president from 2000-02.)

For the past several years, TLA has held an educational and networking event for alumni and students on the Tufts campus in Medford, Massachusetts. That event, “Tufts Law Day on the Hill,” is now firmly established as an annual gathering, and we look forward to hosting our sixth annual event this March.

In addition, TLA hosts networking receptions with dynamic speakers around the country. So far, the regional gatherings have been held in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.

Furthermore, a searchable directory is available to all members.

We invite you to become a member and we welcome your ideas and active involvement. Membership is open to all Tufts alumni who either (i) are admitted to practice in any jurisdiction, (ii) hold a law degree or (iii) are in law school. Together, we can help each other while helping Tufts in ways other than traditional "giving." To download an application for membership, please click here.

The TLA has been recognized as a charitable organization under Chapter 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.

Please peruse our web site and contact us with any questions. I can be reached at (954) 262-6296 or curtisd@nsu.law.nova.edu.

All the best,

Debra Moss Curtis, A90
TLA President 2008
